In @tnyshouts: Mouth guards are a scam. Why didn’t our parents need them? Because they’re a trendy moneymaking scheme that all dentists are in on, that’s why. No offense.http://nyer.cm/r8xXwXC

I got one after my night teeth grinding caused many cracked teeth that led to expensive crowns. But I hate wearing it ...

I couldn't live WITHOUT my mouth guard. I have terrible #TMJ & get a lot of relief from the guard. Headaches, neck pain, jaw pain are less.

Really? My dentists (two different ones) highly suggest me to wear very expensive customized mouth guard. No wonder.

As a dental lab tech, not everyone needs a mouthguard, but some people suffer terrible consequences without them. Teeth grinding at night which leads to jaw and neck pain, can cause headaches and be extremely expensive down the road if teeth crack.

The professional ones by dentists are hard resin; molded, ground & tweaked to a perfect custom fit that are just uppers which actually click into place and are great. I have one. The horrible over-the-counter ones actually promote grinding and chewing in your sleep.
