The story today is about a hero cop who diffused a horrible situation. Everyone knows that horrible Sammy Yatim tragedy. Look in your own back yard. Quit with the “yea buts” and concentrate on the hero at hand. Police aren’t cloned. They are humans who react differently.

It's great to see progress with effective training and good examples of police action.

We know that cops, on the whole, good people. The things they face every day would give most of us nightmares. But we don't exonerate those that stray from the law like America does. In the Yatim case, the officer was prosecuted. So bite me.

And clearly the author of the piece is unable to grasp the nuances of the law and should, perhaps, be writing about the latest Kardashian drama.

Two different people reacted differently in two unrelated situations. How is this even possible?!!!!

Hey
@NewYorker, you missed the real story. Police got it wrong with Yatim and then improved their training with much better outcomes. This saves lives, maybe US forces could learn from this instead of continually killing their citizens they are supposed to serve & protect.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better.
