In @tnyshouts: Mouth guards are a scam. Why didn’t our parents need them? Because they’re a trendy moneymaking scheme that all dentists are in on, that’s why. No offense.http://nyer.cm/KTmSOqz

How old are your parents? I’m 65 years old and even we wore mouth guards when I was a kid. PS, why didn’t my parents take polio vaccinations? Oh, right. They weren’t invented yet and the value not recognized at the time.

Sorry but I beg to differ! I feel it is contributing to the well being of me teeth.

Wrong. I have TMJ and was at a point where I could not even close my teeth due to muscle spasms. Problem was relieved by a 24 hour a day mouth guard. Now just wear it at night.

Do Americans all wear mouth guards as a rule?? Not done in Ireland or UK. Is this because so many of you have veneers etc or just to protect your real teeth??

Mmm... and the general level of stress experienced by most people in society has risen substantially. Those with headaches in the morning, may risk losing their teeth. And you suggest they take what to avoid this?

Also, there are far too many “superfluous” x-rays.

If you are worried about your face looking fat........it is related to your grinding. What do you think happens when we stress our muscles? They get bigger Well what will happen to our jaw muscles if we over use them? They will get bigger and thus your face will get bigger
