Prince’s version of “Nothing Compares 2 U” is more romantic than Sinéad O’Connor’s (there is an extended saxophone solo in his), and his voice is seductive, as if he’s slyly coaxing his lover back into his life: http://nyer.cm/ZqtRvLh pic.twitter.com/WsUbwGcVnG

even as a huge Prince fan I think O’Connor perfected that song to its utmost potential

Too bad the production sucks and he probably would never have approved it being released

Listened to both yesterday, back to back. I like Prince's version, but Sinead's makes me want to cry. Both are lovely, but Sinead's was far more touching. And yes, I'm aware that she and Prince didn't get along, but it is what it is.

If the sun ☀️ shines out of Prince’s arse while he sings it it still wouldn’t touch O’Connor’s version IMHO a perfect song

To be fair he could have done it in the style of Daffy Duck and people would still prefer it now he's dead - it is essentially a pointless exercise. He was a genius she is/was amazing - isn't that enough ?

disagree... give her credit where credit is due, Prince had his own hits, Sinead deserves her due.
