The President can’t declare war on Twitter, because the President can’t, under our constitutional system, declare war. That is Congress’s job—or it should be, @tnyCloseRead writes.http://nyer.cm/yyc0v35

On the basis of the same arguments, could you please clarify #Libya for us? What happened in Libya shows that there are definite legal loopholes, enabling the US to engage in an act of war without declaring war. | #Syria #Douma

Cont.) Another example is #Yemen, of course, where the US has publicly repeatedly confirmed her role in assisting Saudi Arabia, yet has never formally declared war on Yemen.

Everyone writes strong opinion articles that only Congress can declare war, every time the US President declares war. I think Congress doesn't declare war after the fact because it would be a waste of time. We're already at war!

You lost that battle in Vietnam. Here comes another police action. Actually we all lost. Democracy lost to white affluent privilege and here we are.

Now lefties care about congressional approval? After 8 years of numbness? That is rich.

Just like lefties suddenly care about the deficit and spending. Now they care about Congressional processes. Just because it’s Trump. Gotta love those role changes. So much consistency and integrity... Not.

The Executive power has been used to go to war “without advice and consent” of Congress for YEARS... Truman did it, albeit not on SM... it’s not an enumerated power, but it’s there nonetheless. Fact checking is due?
