I grew up in the '80s and granted, at the time, when Breakfast Club came out I wasn't a fan but it talked about cliques and the fact that she wants to equal this to a #MeToo item is b.s. Molly you would be a castaway, forgotten Facts of Life character if it weren't for those

movies. I think you're just looking for publicity and I can't believe that I'm the only person in Gen-X that thinks this. God- I can't stand it when people can't own up to what made them famous.

i think its important to showcase how some of these eighties movies are continuing a theme of grooming youngwomen for exploitation, and maybe she feels guilty for pushing that narrative.

you know, back in the eighties, a lot of us were deep in the throes of materialism and wild capitalism, pushing us to make more money, and buy buy buy!

Nailed it. Funny thing too about Molly I remember a time when you couldn't say bitch or frigging on prime tv yet the funny thing is I don't hear her or the #MeToo movement making a big deal about this. I also remember in the '80s when you couldn't go to school in a tank top.

Now a lot of teenagers dress like they're going to a rock concert. Does that bother me personally- nope but my issue with #MeToo is SHUT-UP about the '80s movies and try to make TODAY better.

What aggravates me is I thought Gen-X was smarter than this- here's a message Gen-X #MeToo groupies-'90s movies aren't to blame for any problems your kids might have-it's all on you.

Anyone revisited Weird Science yet? Even in its day it was pretty disturbing.

If art - books, paintings, films - were only meant to educate me and judge morality, rather than show me how people behave, then no art. No War and Peace, no Guernica, no Madame Bovary, no Godfather. There is no ‘ought to’ for art.

I had been telling my wife for years about one of my favourite 1980s films, Moonstruck. When we finally watched it together recently, I was shocked at how violently Nicholas Cage "seduces" Cher and how she succumbs. Still a charming film in many ways but disturbing as well.

I saw your piece in The New Yorker. Those are some of the best films of all time. The flaws in the characterizations are the flaws in humanity. But viewed holistically, they are wonderful because they illustrate the starting premise: things are NOT how they really should be!!!!!

After you made all your money and fame you criticize what you did to be famous. Your not upset with what you did your just a hypocrite.

Actually you dont have to revisite them. Leave the iconic funny movie alone.just because libtard celebs are now all offended at everything they see doesnt mean you need to tear down a great movie. Long live #thebreakfastclub
