Male authors are great. Always imaginative, with huge scope, like Asimov's Foundation. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Herbet's Dune. Heller's Catch-22. Men aren't obsessed with admiring their genitals in the hand-mirror of writing, but look outwards and to the future.

The only time a male author has come close (IMO) is when he collaborates with a female author. Jenny Wurts & Raymond Feist so amazing in the Daughter of the Empire, and he carrries it on in his other Midkemia books. Also David & Leigh Eddings in Polgara.
