That speech could apply to today, right now. It is sad that we seem to be reliving the worst of our history.

As a sophomore in high school I had a good friend whose mother was an RFK delegate. She and I spent hours discussing how we thought he might make our world a better place. His death, after the terrible loss of MLK, shattered our hope. My heart remains broken to this day.

You're commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr by celebrating speeches made about him by the affluent white man who egregiously authorized the FBI to begin wiretapping the Reverend's phones? Really??? White people, white people-ing...*smh*

This is how a leader acts in times of crisis. Uniting, not dividing.

Uhh NO. Insulting to pull this crap on the anniversary of King's murder. "whether they be white or whether they be black" namby-pamby calls for unity are tone deaf especially given Kennedy's support of militarism, the real violence that King opposed

Don't assume anything. Read them

Who's assuming? Dr King's views were clear; anti-militarism, anti-capitalism, anti-racism. Meanwhile, the FBI under RFK tried to blackmail him into committing suicide. Maybe YOU should read

And the black community where he spoke that night was one of the few that didn't riot, because they realized SOMEONE had heard their pain, and felt it too. His advisors told him not to go because they were scared for his safety, but being compassionate was more important to him.

WOW. To heroize and highlight a white politician’s words in the wake of the robbery of MLK’s life, on this anniversary of his murder, is truly fucking low.

... and now we have a guy with a vocabulary of about 10-words and thinks shooting people (particularly black) as a local matter.

Martin Luther King jr. and Robert Kennedy were both eloquent speakers. When I listen to their old speeches it hits me in my stomach and brings tears to my eyes. Why haven't we listened to their words and learned from these Senseless Deaths?
