“It’s like an affordable Brooklyn,” one man said at a recent event featuring garbage plates, cheap beer, and other western New York cuisine.http://nyer.cm/mwJPcec

At @RoCo137 in Rochester, they have converted a cigarette machine to an art vending machine. $5 buys you an original work of art from artists all over. Agree with @rachellaber #visitroc

As already mentioned-Garbage Plates originated in Rochester and more specifically, at @Nick_Tahou_Hots. To generalize as a food originating from Western NY is akin to making the same statement about chicken wings w/out mentioning Buffalo. Yeah...this is personal ;-)

I have been seriously thinking about subscribing to @NewYorker but idk if I can trust their journalism if an article about Buffalo starts off by talking about a garbage plant #comeon #rochester #585 #the90

Think of it this way... Brooklyn has a festival to celebrate Buffalo and the Best thing about it was the plates. #ROCrules

You wrote a whole article about a food item and did so much research you didn't even get the city of origin correct and then continually mention the wrong city. Garbage Plates are from @Nick_Tahou_Hots in Rochester, NY!

Garbage plates are very specific to Rochester. In fact, Nick Tahous. Calling it a western New York dish is like calling Nathan’s hot dogs a southern New York dish.

Garbage plates are from Rochester, not Buffalo. If NYC is going to "discover" another thing millions of people already know and enjoy, at least get your facts straight.
