Opioids now kill more than 50,000 Americans a year, 10,000 more than AIDS did at the peak of that epidemic: http://nyer.cm/8MQmqbh pic.twitter.com/fq6L1OnvP6

This is what happens when middle class jobs vanish and adult kids have to move back into their parents house and feel no real sense of worth. All they can do is play video games in the basement to fill their lives with some form of happiness. RIP Brian #depression #painisreal

And for much the same reason.....an inability to think about reality and not mere prejudice. With HIV it was "the gays" and now it's "the junkies". The was on drugs is as irrational and as unhelpful and as actually damaging as prejudice against gays.

Well, at least we don't have to live in this crappy world, filled with demon-like creatures with no sense or care for anything that actually matters to the human being. Heroin is a way out, of this terrible place.

Fight against the crap. Fight with other people against injustice. It's easier and much healthier. Fight against your addiction. That's the hell. But you don't have to do it alone. #Please

I'm not addicted to anything, I'm just a nobody. My concern is more life related than political. Thanks for your advice though.

My question is what about just plain ol alcoholism and tobacco addicts? I don’t know the answer but alcohol, tobacco, opioids...they all have addicts and subsequent deaths and yet the doctors are blamed for opioids and called pushers?

And how many people died from alcohol related incidents, and health related problems?!? But, you don't even need a script to get alcohol!

And in spite of this, states rush to legalize the opiate marijuana which cannot be denied is a gateway drug to more harmful and addictive drugs. The greed of these states is placing money over the lives of their citizens. What a sad commentary!

Are you going to follow this piece with one one the impact #rarediseases and pain disorders have on people’s life? Maybe some photos of the man yelling at me in the store that “I’m the problem” when I picked up medication that I need for my disease?

Opioid deaths: A serious problem MADE WORSE by prohibition which ensures unregulated, black market drugs sold by criminals are as dangerous as possible...But TOBACCO remains the most deadly popular drug, killing nearly 10X as many Americans, 480K per yr. killed by legal tobacco.
