I don't think I've forgiven my mom for making us eat homemade carob chip cookies, the only thing worse was Liverwurst on rye toast.

I never understood why anyone would eat it, & therefore never inflicted it on my kid.

Oooo, carob (shivers). I also remember my great-uncle giving me a 70's granola bar like it was a treat. Unforgettable. One of the worst days of my childhood was when my mom came home with a sack of whole wheat flour. She was thrilled, but bread was never good again.

I have horrible memories of trying to make a palatable carob version of hot chocolate. No amount of sugar could achieve it. But to be fair, my mom did have a decent "carob cake" recipe.

OMG. My whole college life. We pretended it was
#Healthfood as we called it back then. Tasted like soap, but we endured it in our endless pursuit (and belief in our) eternal youth.#virtueisitsownpunishmentThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
