Respectfully disagree with this take. If anything, the writer misses the whole point of the movie. https://the-barnburner.com/2018/02/28/and-the-best-picture-goes-to-three-billboards/ …

Please delete this New Yorker I like you but this is so astonishingly incorrect in every single paragraph especially the last few I’m dumbfounded
-
Maybe the journalist (A Mr. Tim Parks) is the worlds first blind & deaf man to give intellectual and sociopolitical insight on films, in that case I’m proud of you but that’s the most logical I can possibly be

What a bunch of dreck. And I’m not talking about the movie. I’d rather watch the film ten times than read this overly self impressed review again. Oh, and next time, in case nobody told you, a review is different from a synopsis. Don’t quit your Uber gig.

Over-analysis springs to mind. Great that so much thought was applied, but it's a good movie. Just enjoy it.

This is easily the worst take I've read on Three Billboards. What an embarrassing piece.
-
I recommend that the author of that "analysis" read this article, published by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar:https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/kareem-abdul-jabbar-race-redemption-three-billboards-1086750 …

Oh brother. In the gay world there's an appropriate camp retort for this critic "Tim Parks" (whom I, a devoted New Yorker reader of many years, shall henceforth avoid): "Oh Mary, get over yourself."

Horrid movie, even apart from the plotholes. Please do expain the point of it - other than reflecting Hollywood’s detachment from the real world.

Is it necessary for caricatures NOW to get the audience to FEEL anything? The information age has us desensitized... Ironic we try w PC talk but this movie is a bunch of stereotypes~ The attention span is shot too, so we end up with clips strung together... good read

-
Following information age, desensitization & zero attention span... This Is Us is a very popular show but I find its just a bunch of well written “Hallmark” commercials strung together.. I think that too comments on contemporary culture~ but maybe thats what art is supposed to do
