Authoritarianism is in the raise... Look at #Spain's application of the Dictator's Book when cracking down Freedom of Speech, of Press, of Assembly, Right to Protest, Self-Determination and delivers Hate Speech against #Catalonia. #FreeCatalanPoliticalPrisoners 🎗️

Kanye's Dangerous Path Toward Authoritarianism? Let's see what happens with his 2020 campaign before we start criticizing the Kardashian-West Administration. Give the guy a chance! :)

Perhaps you're right but "let's see what happens" and "give the guy a chance" is what got us the Dictator Jr. we are dealing with now 😏

For the umpteenth time, the 2007 post-election violence was primarily between the Kalenjin & Kikuyu and much less between the Kikuyu and other communities (Luo, Mijikenda, Luhya, Maasai etc). That's why main ICC inductees were Kikuyu & Kalenjin. None was Luo.

Second, @Fromagehomme claim that a joint US-UK threat would force Uhuru's hand seems to forget perhaps the world's biggest geopolitical shift in past 20 years. China is a bigger factor in decisions than Somalia. Unlike the 80s & 90s, the West is no longer the only game in town

Of course. But while Chinese trade is very high, Chinese aid is not. Few countries can survive off China alone, which is why the West retains considerable - though not overwhelming - influence in many parts of the world.

supporters. If there was an actual inhumane activity it would have surfaced in social media: whatsapp, facebook or twitter. We are just living as kenyans in an uncomfortable time having to cope with idiots everywhere including the police and some in and out of power.

as uhuru stated: 'the time of politics is over' if they want to talk about how to make kenyan's lives better he has an open door policy. The opposition simply won't allow it because this is Raila's last shot at a presidency and this is his bitterness at play echoed out in his...

could have acted out on them, the media simply 'pretends' not to understand how bipolar the situation is with talks of succession and so on. Frankly I avoid Kenyan politics but the fact is they're being dealt with delicately to save the economy which uhuru cares about more

I have to disagree - I think media understands how "bipolar" the situation is. Look at my November Atlantic story, which discussed calls for secession. This story highlights the growing polarization in Kenya and looks at how the govt is choosing to respond to the opposition

My opinion is the media has people who because of tribe or which side their bosses stands on will choose how to air their opinion. And honestly we had a repeat election to add after it someone who pulled of declare themselves president and with calls that would incite 🤦‍♂️

Trust me as a Kenyan the opposition even prior to their mock inauguration spoke of how they "tried" to talk with uhuru but failed so whatever happens even be it 'war' it's on uhuru's hands. They're sore losers there's no other way to state it and the party for jubilee...
