Her books scared me too. Because they seemed to be so close to reality. Playing with astral projection, psychics, witches...how belief can linger on the edge of the frightening. And as an English Teacher, I now fear my students. Lol.

Lois Duncan meant a great deal to me too. I didn't know she had passed. She came to speak to writers in Lubbock. I had such a great time talking to her that she read a Shilverstein poem about Jerome to the crowd for fun. She cared about writers.
