You are wise to be worried about your hearing. After listening to music LOUD for many years I learned I've lost 60% of my hearing in one ear. Now I have to set everything to mono to hear both tracks. It's a fairly lousy compromise, but it's all I've got.

Need a great example of this? Attend a professional sports event. Any break in the action is filled with music at earsplitting levels. Crowd not into it? Every available light in the facility will be flashing in some way to excite the crowd so they'll make more pointless noise.

Not that I'd want it BUT if music were to kill my ears I'd like the last song I hear to be "Poetic Justice"
