But we should not dismiss it either. There is so much male misbehavior. They need to step up and check themselves.

Agreed. I think that’s an incredibly important aspect of this discussion: Self-reflection and empathy. Getting men (or anyone, really) to pay attention and question if their behavior could make someone feel uncomfortable or threatened.
-
Yes. So often women are the ones expected to do all the changing in reaction to men's behavior. Men need to change too and take responsibility. That said, it is women who want things to change, so unfortunately, inherently, it is likely us that will have to do the most changing.
-
Countless men seem quite comfortable with the status quo and aren't going to change if they don't have to.
-
Sad but true. Not to lay it all on them, but this is where true male allies can play a part to hold their peers accountable.

If you're a woman and surrounded by 20 "lesser acts" each day, it aggregates into an unacceptable way to live. Asking us not to talk about or address those acts suggests that a woman's composite suffering matters less than the public persona of each gross-but-not-felonious actor.

Don't understand this statement, if acts are illegal, they are all severe & not acceptable!
-
Might be a good opportunity for legal system to better define sexual offences, other than rape of course, perhaps at detriment of the cause?

Also there are much higher rates of women who are sexually aggressive/coercive towards males in dating than there are women who assault/abuse power/commit rape. The latter is a predominantly male-on-female issue while the former is less gender specific.

The reflexive cry is also a popular one. The girls on the avenue who act are not to blame of course, yet there will be those in the entertainment industry who should not be there, but in nursing, with padlocks on their undies.

“Rising pressure”? Calm down, NYer.

Perhaps you didn’t read or it went over your head, but it’s a play on words given the blood pressure connection. She made some valid points and asks some good questions. Though in the end it didn’t really go anywhere.
