Today, Chuck Schumer had one negotiating partner, Mitch McConnell, and he took the available offer: six years’ worth of funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program and the promise of a Senate vote for the Dreamers.http://nyer.cm/T5P3Y2l

Hard to believe doing the right thing for people has become a bargaining tool. Half our congress has no business being there.

No he didn't cave. He stood up for the CHIP kids who were being held hostage by the GOP. DACA will go to a vote and the extension is only for 3 weeks.

Why is it that he does what the republicans tell him to do, but ignores his constituent? That’s what passes for a leader in the senate?

Democrats come away empty-handed! The illegal aliens they shut down the government for don't appreciate their effort and also don't vote. Hard to see how this helped them. Maybe they should leave the governing to the adults.

If anything the American voter caved in back in 2016 when the choice was Hillary or Trump. 1/3rd did not vote and guess what, they are the ones complaining the LOUDEST now. That's not how democracy works. You vote and decide. Not sit on your hands and complain about the outcome
