My own grandmother died from an illegal abortion in 1939. The anti-choice argument is that these women deserve it. It's the typical baby-killer propaganda that ignores all rational discussion of the need for safe & legal abortion. Compassionate Christianity doesn't seem to exist.

Compassionate Christianity is an oxymoron.

You know-my first instinct was to hit the like button on your tweet. But then it hit me-if we start doing that, lumping them all together like that, then we have become just as bad as the crazed cult followers are about us! I’m gonna try to be aware of that and stop doing it.

I hear you, but IMO, the hypocrisy of Christians in this situation is that they would rather fight for the life of the unborn, than fight for the life of women that have abortions. They see it only one way. Black & White, no discussion. To me, there's no compassion in that.

Agree - about SOME Christians. But my parents are Christians who believe abortion should be kept safe and legal. So we can’t paint every Christian with the same brush.

You're right. Thanks for reminding me.

-
Well - it was you who reminded me! Thank YOU!

Feel like we should send this to everyone who equates "liberal" with "baby killer", if only they would actually read it. Harrowing.

Powerful article. Tragic and moving. How is it possible for me to feel like I miss her smile...?
