In 2009, days before her 23rd birthday, Laura S. was pulled over by a police officer, who then called Border Patrol. Laura tried to explain that she had an ex-husband across the border, in Reynosa, Mexico, who had promised to kill her if she returned.http://nyer.cm/XfbG5wu

This was one of the best piece I read this month. Props to the journalists involved on it.

So why haven’t the Authorities in Mexico done anything to help protect her from that husband of hers in Mexico?

Everyone has a sad story. That is why they are leaving that hell hole of a country. I would leave also.

"U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers . . . have been emboldened under President Trump" . . . "Emboldened" to follow the laws of the US Government? Isn't that what they are supposed to have been doing all along?

And what is the "percentage of illegal immigrants in the U.S. that have a similar alleged claim to amnesty" that (the argument goes) cops on the beat are supposed (we can only guess) "put on a judge's robe in the car" and adjudicate on the spot?

As alluded to in the article, the deputy that arrested Solis based on a pretextual stop is now in jail for accepting bribes and attempting to trade assault weapons for cocaine.

Why did she go back to the place where her husband could find her? Also, there's no evidence her husband killed her, is there? Why doesn't Mexico ENFORCE SOME LAWS? Maybe we should let all illegals colonize Detroit instead of deporting them!
