Forget the speech of Deneuve that doesn't reflect what French women think. Pay attention to the text of Leila Slimani which is much more relevant & intelligent & it's exactly what the French women think.

Because they buy into misogyny. Without complicit women, men couldn’t get away with this crap.

Deneuve knew how to say no and walk away. A woman's power to say no - to anyone, but especially to those in power needs to be nurtured early on.

I would say because it didn't happen to her or anyone in her circle-then again they seem more sexually open in Paris. Not bothered maybe by rape, I find that repulsive. She epitomized the ultimate woman for a long while. I remember.

we are less puritans in France, but no, the French do not like being raped ... the opinion of deneuve is marginal, she has simply no knowledge of real life

Ms. Deneuve is French and French Woman understand men, the also understand that politicizing sex in an obvious and heavy handed way is uniquely American. The French are willing to thank GOD it's not them doing such a service to lamour!!!
