No, not a cultural issue, but also a generational one and an elitist one. Sadly, Ms. Deneueve falls under several of those categories. Besides, I've been to France and was NEVER treated disrespectfully - quite the opposite. I applauded how respectful the Frenchmen were.

There was a time when men were ABSOLUTELY not permitted to lay a finger on women without invitation - if not marriage. Somewhere down the line, we started accepting men chasing women around the desk at the office. Let's get to the middle ground of respect.
