In recent years, China has taken steps to accrue national power on a scale that no country has attempted since the Cold War: http://nyer.cm/1JgxJcW pic.twitter.com/XqSeXayZGN

I keep seeing Trump supporters writing comments on how Trump has this perfect relationship with the leader of China 😧 they do not realize that the leader of China has Trump right where he wants him & has been playing him since day one. America deserves a leader, not child.

Its time is over. For China to lead the world again however it must eschew #corruption & #pollution and be refocused on supporting basic #humanrights for all. To be the global leader means to be the one to say no to evil weapons sales or torture for oil.

You don’t understand China and Chinese, in China we say “the first bird will be shoot first”, only fool want to be the first,if the US want to be the first, that’s so good to China

Nothing “first” about sacred values upheld by all religions, humanitarian movements... It is reasonable however to be a bellwether & refuse to be an outlier. Among other advantage it forces ALL to serve as a good example of SOMETHING. So China copying them all would be paradise.

It is great that the New Yorker spends the time to look at China. There is probably too much focus on Russia with its state of the art 1970's military and over active psy ops

That's because that country is made of people who are conscious of their place in World History and who are definite in their idea of the roles they want to play in the Global Affairs, today and tomorrow. #NationalDiscourse

That is inevitable after the economy boomed so many years. But the US do not need to worry because 1. It will never be able to challenge US militarily 2. It lacks the agenda of promoting its own value because it doe not have any value itself.

Well I disagree on the first point as the mighty military coalition spearheaded by US isn't doing any good in Afghanistan or elsewhere.
