*holds up hand* I know this doesn't really mean much of anything and I've never been much for speaking for anyone else, but I *really* want Mexicans to speak up and express every bit of exactly who they are, because they deserve to be heard - and they add so much to who we are.

Yup. One big first in assimilation: pressure to anglicanize one's name. My grandparents did it after arriving here from Eastern Europe.
