Well worth seeing the documentary on Kalief's time in Rikers, which will make you cry. Judge Patricia DiMango of tv's "Hot Bench" is one of the judges who tried to convince Mr. Browder to take a plea, and said that he would never become anything. Hope that she's proud of herself.

Kalief Browder committed suicide a year after this article was written. He refused to plead guilty for a crime he didn't commit, so spent three traumatic years at Rikers. When you have to force innocent people to make a plea deal in order to get them out, that's no justice.
