Place names can be damning evidence of colonial history. On a map of Australia, you’ll see Murderers Flat, Massacre Inlet, Haunted Creek, and Slaughterhouse Gully.http://nyer.cm/HCgGmXv

The Australian Goverment must atone and compensate as the German one has largely successfully attempted

I don't support 'recognition in the colonial parliament (I guess the PR on that was a 'win' for government as much as the PR spin of a rejection was). I support UNDRIP. This map is missing WA because they used to poison waterholes then burn the bodies. I'm Badimaya First Nation.

A lot have been changed since the 1970s to quietly remove the evidence and/or to remove the shame or guilt of local communities. #australianhistory

Cth Parliament agreed immediately post #UluruStatement to legislate for "establishing an Indigenous voice to Parliament". Btw many First Nations preferred allocated parliamentary seats as minimum reform but were not invited to Parliament funded $18M #Uluru Ref Council dialogues

Current sticking point is #Uluru recommendation, due justifiable concern advisory body legislation revoked by future Parliament, not accept legislated voice until a referendum held to secure its permanent tenure (albeit advisory body can be established immediately by legislation)
