The force of the #MeToo moment leaves no room for due process, or, indeed, for Al Franken’s own constituents to consider their choice, @mashagessen writes.http://nyer.cm/LybZdMj

My prediction is the Democrats will Rue the day they forced Senator Franken to walk the plank and fall on his sword without due process this will absolutely come back and bite them in the butt and they will deserve it

That's because the Democrats know how to cannibalize themselves. They only get emboldened when it comes to fighting amongst each other. All in all, I blame @SenFranken for his decision to resign. He should've told them to go to hell .... let the people of MN decide.

“The cultural wave that brought down the Minnesota senator only works on half the country.” And that half is deluding itself and wanting to live in a fantasy world.

I think so. We are not playing by the same rules. Ds may most often have the moral highground, but it doesn't necessarily translate to political wins.

Al Franken got screwed by Sean Hannity, Roger Stone and Kristen Gillibrand, who sanctimoniously lumped Franken's inappropriate behavior in with Trump's and Moore's criminal behavior. Pure demagoguery and grandstanding, which cost us one of our best senators.

DO NOT shame women for admitting #MeToo. DO NOT GO THERE. Do not make us feel horrible that Franken is resigning.

I'm shaming our party for pretending that Franken "must resign" to claim the moral high ground against the other party, for pretending there's no moral difference between Franken and sexual predators, for pretending his progressive record in the Senate is irrelevant.

To quote @CathyYoung "[Franken] recently deplored efforts to restore due process for students accused of sexual misconduct under Title IX. Perhaps now, he can appreciate the need for “innocent until proven guilty.” Poetic justice.https://www.newsday.com/opinion/columnists/cathy-young/al-franken-sexual-harassment-1.15074613 …

I hate what happened but he will land on his feet. If he wants he can make more change for good by not being in government #MeToo is bigger than one loss because the real loss is YUGE. This lamb shall not be basted.

Ya know who has more influence than a senator? An entertainer. He has so much background there is no way to stop him now in his golden years...you watch. You'll see he will land firmly above the fray and sway. Trust me.

Cindy... his life's work and passion was as a U.S. Senator. He's no longer an "entertainer." What about that don't you understand? And he's far from being in his "golden years." 🙄 He's a relatively young man who was unfairly forced to give up the political career he loves.
