In China, Trump’s election neatly fit the propaganda narrative that American democracy is a fluke, and will ultimately end in corruption and dysfunction: http://nyer.cm/0PASiU8 pic.twitter.com/PXpVCbxGIU

Uhhh, not really propaganda when it’s actually happening. We’re literally watching it happen every day.

The Trump Adm. is corrupt and dysfunctional but it will not end American democracy. Trump has made it messy, frustrating, sometimes frightening, but democracy will prevail. We’ll find a way to clean up his mess and continue to be a great nation.

They are playing Trump for a fool and he is blind to the reality. They are laughing at the US for tolerating the ultimate buffoon!

Except we don't have a democracy, a democracy would've elected the first woman receiving 2 million more votes into office.

The Communist Party tells the story of Marxism’s greatness to the people. Perhaps some Chinese accept its superiority to democracy as an article of faith, but most know they will be jailed or worse if they say they don’t. The people want the same freedom to choose

Given the choice between chinese tyranny and disfunction, I'll take disfunction, but it's a false dilemma because even Marx realized that any government at best is a necessary evil.
