Part of what differentiates tech from other industries with an imbalanced gender ratio is its self-regard, as a realm of visionary futurists and tireless innovators who are making the world better. http://nyer.cm/Ksl4sDy

While we're at it, let's force women into coal mining, hard metalwork, and construction. Progressive!

And for the record, women in tech is a good thing, I work in the space. Women are hired a LOT, and often chosen at priority because of this narrative. But pretending men and women are the same, and gravitate towards the same things, is a absolute nonsense.

Sorry, what has this got to do with male nurses? I'm not sure what your point was.

Disappointing. Tesla, sexist obstructionists like all the rest. More power to the stalwart women striving for parity. #Tesla #ElonMusk #PayParityForWomen

That doesn’t differentiate tech at all. Men in every field believe what they do is important; they just come up with new rationales

I may be going out on a limb here, & 'tho' the article (albeit long) details my experience in Tech also, it seems the ppl most shocked are men learning abt how it works. I don't reckon most women in biz are surprised at all.15 yrs since I left, & no change.
