I know that most wealthy people are ok. But each family has enormous power concentrated in its hands.

There is a very rich family sitting behind almost every horrible problem we face now.
-
Mercers fund white supremacists, Kochs attack environmental protections, health care and schools, etc.
-
One of the big central threads in the current disaster is the unchecked power of rogue wealthy families.
-
The other big central thread, of course, is racism.

It is unfortunate when abuse of anything causes damage, i.e. drugs, alcohol, etc. To blame others for your failings isn't right either.
-
Didn't RTFA did you? These people were PRESCRIBED addictive doses of painkillers BY THEIR DOCTORS. After being MISLED by the MANUFACTURER.
-
RTFA very funny! I don't have to read 1 article to have an opinion on the responsibility of consuming dangerous drugs!
-
Omg, Lady. When they were first prescribed, no one knew they were dangerous. In fact, Reps assured hc profs that they were NOT addictive.
-
I get when they were originally Rx, their true addictive qualities were unknown or untold - that said . . . how many years ago was that?
-
I get that some people need pain management. Addict don't take for pain, they take to not feel! What's that say about our society?
-
They take them because they have a chemical dependency. That's how chemical addiction works.
-
Thx for schooling me on how chem dependency works. Don’t know how I’ve made it thru 3 decades of health care delivery w/out twitter experts

The VA used to give my dad bottles of 400, 10mg Oxycontin tablets. I got addicted at 17, hadn't even smoked pot yet. Learned on the internet
-
They ended up taking a vacation and I got sick, had to look up online the reason that I felt so bad, had ZERO clue what addiction was.
-
I've treated patients firsthand that were addicted to oxycontin and 1 vietnam vet on morphine. System sucks...hope things are better for you
-
I'm clean now brother but addictive connections your brain creates never really go away, always have to be super careful and aware.
