        What a strange scandal.

That apology episode was a sad, sad sight. I turned it off. Much ado about nothing. He kept trying to excuse himself. It dragged on too long

Despite some meaningful analysis Bill's preponderance of white guy panel lineups made Real Time no longer a must see. Pass the mic already.

I think that's a function of the fact his main focus is politics. But I see plenty of women and people of color on the show too.

You may see "plenty" but in 2017 that's not enough. There is a white guy on the show 100 percent of the time. Representation matters.

It seems ethically bankrupt to condemn someone not for what they said or the context that they said it but solely for...their race.

I think it weird that he assumes he can say it. Although he probably used to being able to say anything he wants as a comedian

I don't think you give enough credit to the show for at least having this honest discussion. It's pretty rare for any show (unfortunately)

The "obvious" that this article refers obliquely to is the acceptance of a racist and race-based approach to the English language.

I think that's shortsighted and problematic for, ahem, *obvious* reasons.

Funny gays use the Q word daily and Blacks use the N word most notably in music and no one bats an eyelid.

Right. The fact that they began as slurs means that those outside those groups should avoid referring to them as such.

But you can't expect people not to even DISCUSS issues of language or pop culture.
