Really pleased, Nessa. Studied Middle English, very fleetingly, yrs ago but do love the tales from that time.
-
So do I! Though I've forgotten much, I can still recite the Canterbury Tales prologue in Middle English. Great tales!
-
Still remember the Mid Eng word,"trauthe" for "truth" not that it's helped me in anyway hereafter my studies.
-
But it's so nice to remember those "unimportant" bits. BTW, "trauthe" is connected to the German "traut", "vertraut".
-
Thought there'd be a Teutonic connection. Agreed. Fun to recall "unimportant" bits. Shows memory's still lively

I am hollow with loss and harrowed by pain, yet here you stand, lightened of all strife, at peace in the land of Paradise.
