It’s not entirely clear what Brett Kavanaugh’s classmate meant when he compared Georgetown Prep Beach Week to “Revenge of the Nerds”—it is difficult to map Kavanaugh and his crew onto the movies’ binary nerds-versus-jocks landscape: http://nyer.cm/VydFSDY pic.twitter.com/1kV2killtc

Some of Kavanaugh's classmates, including his best bud and workout partner ‘Tobin’, reference 'Ridge Klux Klan' in their yearbook. During that time, there were KKK rallies in Rocky Ridge, MD. Is there any connection? And mostly, what was going on at a school where that was okay?

I thought The New Yorker was supposed to be a middle-brow publication. Reconsidering my subscription.

Maybe the emphasis was more on “revenge.” Seems likely.

It's not difficult. Just because Kavanaugh got into law and other places of power, that doesn't mean he's a "nerd". Do you imagine all the "jocks" in ROTN went on to become professional football players?

“It’s difficult to map K and his crew onto the movies’ binary nerd vs jock landscape.” Opinions and politics aside, it’s not difficult. Which do you think they were attempting to associate with? No crime by any means, but it’s not hard at all, don’t pretend it is.
