My wife and daughter both have EDS (vascular) and I will say that EDS is likely under-diagnosed and not well understood by most doctors. VEDS can cause spontaneous bruising and dislocations/subluxations. Dr. Holick should be more careful with his diagnoses, though.
-
As for broken bones, EDS can also affect the intestines and could theoretically cause vitamin D deficiency. In fact, I just found a paper on this topic:https://ojrd.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13023-016-0491-2 …
-
I know from experience that vascular EDS patients can also be hypermoobile with loose joints (my daughter subluxated her kneecap just walking across the dining room). Dr. Holick's patients should probably be tested for VEDS.
