The Democrats elected to prod Brett Kavanaugh about his drinking habits and demand that he ask the White House for an F.B.I. investigation. That’s clearly not happening, and every breath spent on the subject was wasted.http://nyer.cm/4ODe2XL

An investigation is necessary. It's very telling when a judge can't admit that. He's worried about his name? Clear it. Ask for a complete investigation if you are 100% innocent.

They were proving a point with the FBI. The accuser wants one, but the person wanting his name cleared, doesn't. Second, the drinking is huge, as that's when all of these allegations occur. Third, he didn't answer questions. Repubs didn't ask and he blew off Dems.

Also, it got the Republicans to blow up. @OsitaNwanevu is an anti-Democrat writer. He was going to turn this into an attack on Democrats no matter what. He is alt left.

Yep. That was right after Senator Durbin went after Kavanaugh over there not being an FBI investigation.https://twitter.com/matthewamiller/status/1045415488677908480 …

That tantrum from Graham was solely because Kavanaugh’s exchange with Durbin was so damning.

It did not fall on deaf ears. It is reasonable, despite the political posturing and delay in reporting the allegation. It is another norm driven off a cliff. I’d have preferred the investigation and without it I cannot support him. Too many unanswered questions.

Don't be stupid. They COULDNT break her anonymity until she agreed. Dr. Ford had decided NOT to come forward. It was no one else's business, and they COULD NOT have the FBI investigate, until she had agreed to come forward. She only did because her name was leaked.

Not so. Pushing for a proper background investigation by the FBI resonates with the public, and is a very reasonable way to try to break the “she said, he said” deadlock.
