The New Yorker doesn’t really do “News”, which is itself a political stance that may require, at present, a defense more robust than they can muster.

Excellent!

The author (Troy Patterson) is just moaning b/c he doesn’t understand why Norm is funny, & raging because Norm doesn’t inject leftist propaganda into everything. Being hung, drawn, & quartered isn’t a kind enough fate for writing this abomination of a screed.

Have you considered for a moment, that perhaps not everyone wants politics injected into every single thing they do? Just a thought.
-
The politicization of all things, a kind of political pantheism, where politics and existence are one, is poisoning our culture. When every dimension of life, when every experience, is reducible to the political, the result is a society devoid of civility and humanity.
-
I was just here to yell hateful things at the stupid NYer and here you have to go and say something brilliant and make me use my brain. Goddam you.
-
I greatly appreciate the kind words. Thank you.
-
If you're poor, marginalized because of race/religion/gender, anything else politics is in everything you do. All the time. No matter what. If you're fortunate enough to be able to choose when to engage in politics and when not to you're not bad, but not everyone has a choice.

Shut up, nerd. No one asked for your white savior complex in here.

Or because making fun of Donald Trump is a crutch he doesn't need.
-
Yeah, Norm is notoriously shy about taking cheap shots at Presidentshttps://youtu.be/weJqe8m2m5g
-
Maybe because that was literally his job on weekend update, to make fun of current events. Why would he touch politics on his show in 2018 if he doesn't have to?
-
Sooooo you know nothing about his tenure in SNL then. He did exactly the material he really really wanted to do and nothing else. That's why he was fired in the end.
-
He got fired because of his O.J. Simpson jokes
-
Lemme get this straight: this dude is saying MacDonald's obligated to go after Trump because he went after Clinton as part of a well-paying gig when he was with Saturday Night Live?

I actually really enjoy his show. I was pleasantly surprised with his interview style and he asks really great questions.
-
I couldn’t agree more. Norm has a great interaction with his guests. I love the show
-
I found the show calms me which is nice for a change.
