The comedian Norm Macdonald doesn’t really do political comedy, which is itself a political stance that may require, at present, a defense more robust than he cares to muster: http://nyer.cm/U2C2xU8 pic.twitter.com/8DjA7lovMW

Yes, but when a comedian who aims to be topical and relevant ignores politics for convenience, it feels like a glaring omission.

Right and if George Carlin was alive we’d try to ruin his career. And Richard Pryor screw him too. Carol Burnett well let’s burn her too she may disagree with the mob. Ppl can disagree and be comedians without having to apologize after every joke. And I didn’t vote for trump

The show is great. Beautifully humanized vision that popular culture desperately needs. High points: Chevy Chase is really deeply funny. Jane Fonda’s post-make out face. Billy Joe Shaver’s sly and shy talent.

What you meant to say is that the "herd" cannot abide a comedian that does not make jokes and insult the #POTUS which shines a light on the mob mentality of all on the left with the DNC/Media Complex fanning the flames.

i disagree. I have a soft spot for norm. however, he's one of the vestiges of a certain crass form of humor where the punchlines revolve around various perceived weaknesses or irregularities in groups of people. his jokes are for the hegemony. that's always been political.

an example that jumps out to me: remember norm's long-standing reliance on the word and the innuendo of "hookers"? today's political scene, where themes of me too and blm etc are butting up against various old-world bigotries, has revealed how political norm's humor was all along
