Nike’s choice to make the erstwhile quarterback Colin Kaepernick a face of their latest campaign isn’t so much a defiant recognition of dissent as an acknowledgment of the directions in which sports culture has travelled: http://nyer.cm/F2Uw3S7 pic.twitter.com/908YwS9xRr

Of course it’s marketing; but I will take a Nike supporting Kaepernick over an Adidas collaborating with a Kanye, every day of the week and twice on Sundays @justdoit

Can someone tell me what he sacrificed? He got paid $19 million to ride the bench after injuries ruined his career. He didn't vote in 2016. Did he spend any of his millions of dollars to support this issue? He is a fake and a liar!

#bullshit Backing Kaepernick recognizes that this generation and the Millennials are going strongly pro-equality, anti-authoritarian, anti-Trumpism.

And yet, Nike just donated $1,000,000 to Oregon candidate for a Governor, Knute Buehler-R. No surprise, but disappointing that Kaepernick is helping Nike fund that. Oregon must stay BLUE!

Maybe zero to do with the theme, but with perceived support. Phil Knight used to be Nike CEO. Knight donated to a GOP gubernatorial race. Hopefully Nike isn't playing both sides, earning $ from a civil rights activist & supporting GOP causes. Thanks 4 the condescension, though.
