For the past two years, the mood at the BBC Proms, which modestly bills itself as the “world’s greatest classical music festival,” has been soured by Britain’s vote to leave the European Union: http://nyer.cm/vAtf814 pic.twitter.com/XMrqaENtw1

Yeah sure. As you can see in the photo you posted in this tweet, the mood is really sour.

No it doesn’t. Surely it shows even when divided by an issue as big as brexit we can still all come to celebrate the joys and wonder of music 🤔

It's been a wonderful Proms! A wealth of glorious concerts, and no sign of despondency.

I am afraid that, in this particular case, you are factually inaccurate. There are myriad examples that would support your underlying political point but the Proms is not one of them.

Eh?! I don't think this is true, is it?😕Mind you, sadly, I haven't been able to get to the @bbcproms in person for a few years coz I now live in the freezin' north east!❄️☃️😄So maybe there have been a few good punch ups in the arena between the Remoaners & Brexiteers?!🥊😂

No, it hasn't. Contrary to popular belief, public life in Britain is not dominated and depressed by Brexit
