The way in which the news media are being corrupted—even an outlet like @nytimes—is one of the most insidious effects of the Trump Administration, @mashagessen writes.http://nyer.cm/ULp9BaT

I remember Deep Throat being reported on. Was that corruption?

Corruption at the New York Times was caused by @realDonaldTrump. Years from now you’ll step back and laugh at how dumb and twisted that argument is.

The New Yorker should have waited a few more days after the Bannon SNAFU before criticizing other news outlets about compromising their standards during the Trump era.

Exposed is the word you are looking for. They have always been biased, dishonest and corrupt. Trump only exposed them for all to see.

The only thing trump has exposed are how many Americans are complete idiots. You should absolutely build a wall...around everyone who voted for or supports him.

Another huge jobs report for August, 3.8% unemployment (only lazy Democrats aren't working in the USA now), DOW--> 26000, a 2nd brilliant conservative jurist about to be confirmed to the SCOTUS, lower taxes, 4% GDP, ISIS destroyed....ya it's a living hell here right now.

Enjoying that $1T borrowed from China by a guy who’s been bankrupted 4 times and doesn’t know how to pay people? Sounds like one hell of a party. Let’s see how you go with the hangover.

Wrong, @mashagessen Your argument that when Trump goes low, media goes low, and that it’s unavoidable, is rubbish. If you or anyone else in media go low it is entirely of your making. Your article was very nearly brave, but not actually brave.

I wouldn’t put a lot of stock in what Masha Gessen has to say. She belongs in the same league as Glenn Greenwald.

I think Gessen is missing the deeper point of the op ed, looking at it and its possible motivations strangely narrowly. I love the NYer, but I feel this missed the mark.

Say...wasn't the NYT manipulated by the SAME GOP leading up to the Iraq War in terms of disseminating FALSE and MISLEADING INFORMATION about Saddam's FICTITIOUS "nuclear arsenal" to justify a war under false pretenses?

What’s stunning is that the op-ed author doesn’t realize they’re validating the “deep state” they insist doesn’t exist. They’re telling us that anonymous people are governing us, without the knowledge of the president. Politics aside, this is the real threat to our democracy.

I want to thank the anon writer and the NYT for publishing what is really happening at the WH. Being a psych student, obviously Trump is not a stable person. The Op-Ed piece verifies it. Thanks again NYTimes. It is one of the reasons the press is a friend of the people.
