The way in which the news media are being corrupted—even an outlet like @nytimes—is one of the most insidious effects of the Trump Administration, @mashagessen writes.http://nyer.cm/oWPsi1s

Not up to @mashagessen ‘s usual standard. Absurd to say that Op-Ed side protecting the writer’s identity makes NYT “complicit” with the Trump administration (also weird since Trump is demanding that the writer be turned over). Better take: @Sulliview

If you read the article, she talks about how the media are willingly corrupted in the pursuit of scoops and access. However, decision whether to report presidential tweets for example is no-win situation. Did not start with this administration. #howsausageismade

I feel you on reporting tweets, and acknowledge that it isn't easy. But there's no defending that editorial. It's like they're trying to keep up with the Woodward book, so it's tacky besides.

Neither this article nor its author has anything constructive to say. Contrarily, I find it is pedantic and self-righteous. News outlets report what’s going on, and we live in shitty times. I’d rather the op-ed be published than censored.

The “unsung heroes” helped gut the treasury, distribute tax money to those who don’t need it, frag health care, separate families at the border, play foreign relations theater with the North Korean leader and Putin, pack the cours with probable ideologues, and more.

This thoughtful piece by Masha Gessen makes excellent points. But it begs the question of just what the “patriots” in the Administration are supposed to do. And is it possible that the Times op-ed is multi-authored, giving deniability to each when asked if he or she is the one?

Some good points here -- though I might have gone easier on the Woodward context or doubled down on same. In any case, you veer well away and then stay well away from the subject of media in the Trumpian era. Where is more analysis of the ostensible topic and its repercussions?
