yeah i didnt read the article either, but it seems rather more like a concern that these recording devices could embolden officers to operate at the broadest possible interpretation of justifiable conduct

Let's just abollish thresholds all together... it could embolden anyone in any context to operate at the flight envelope boundary.

although the law is a fluid thing and no amount of codifying it will ever capture the infinite nuance of lawful/unlawful behaviour, knowing one will be found 'technically right' on some recording erodes the need to provide emphatic policing that strives to fairly serve the people

It actually will increase emphatic policing since officers realise the benefit of the recording of their good behavior. Some groups have struggled since their narratives proved to be debunked by footage. The BC backfired...
