Protesting does nothing to sway the opinion of those with the money and the power. You have to hit them where it hurts - the pocketbook. General strikes are more effective and actually work in countries with populations that haven't been pacified the way the US citizenry has.

It may not change people's mind but it will open people's eyes. Those who haven't paid attention or didn't feel motivated. It makes a difference whether or not its quantifiable

Didn’t finish the whole thing bc the opening is trash. The three first examples you gave may not have succeeded in getting big policy changes yet but they sure have changed the conversation regarding those issues - which is the whole pt of protest

Protests has & will also make a significant impact. It's a display of solidarity 4 the entire world 2 see. Ex. the abuse of immigration toddlers -- We are NOT that America. Trayvon Martin, and more recent Pinellas Co. Stand Your Ground case of unarmed man.

Unfortunately, no one knows who are real puppeteers of marches, they could be same culprits whom are being protested! Today's protests and marches missing their true roots, indeed, they are not effective! They serve no purpose other than to register popular opinion!

It makes the actual protestor feel better, but beyond that, no. It changes no opinions. It is the new way of things.
