Possibly—just possibly—the growing protests against Donald Trump’s decision to revoke John Brennan’s security clearance could turn out to be a significant political moment.http://nyer.cm/UtQgyc7

There have been and will be more yet, many significant political moments. None of it matters until the sensible middle ground rises up and out votes the deplorables by a big enough margin that the electoral college gerrymander fails.

One reason is *strength in numbers.* Finally, people are realizing that they need to join forces and raise *a combined voice,* as the national security leaders and newspapers have just done. Clergy need to stand up together. Publishers. Judges. Teachers. NFL players. Moms. Kids.

I’ve been burned before. I refuse to allow optimism to raise its beaten head. I will stick with righteous anger and furious determination, thanks anyway.

I don't understand: Why do ANY ex-officials get to keep security clearance in the first place - once they leave their posts?

Because it enables security officers in current government to tap into the institutional memory imbedded in the minds of past officials. It helps us all, and to take it away out of spite is dangerous.

Keep dreaming @Newyorker We the people don't sympathize when powerful officials compalin about loosing their special privileges. No retired official needs a security clearance.

We stand by those TRUE PATRIOTS who fight to protect our freedoms from the tantrums of a vengeful man-child. We value their contributions and your commitment to the American people. So sorry DT (Not fit for the title) has declared war on his own country and all it stands for.
