I am staying put here in the USA. Things are far worse in my ex-home country Germany.

Crime rates are rising drastically, mostly committed by asylum seekers. They expected Eden. Those are facts. I don't even want to go back for a visit. I was there 3 yrs ago and it's gotten worse.

Sorry you feel this way. I was back there this summer, like every year. Seemed fine to me. In my town, immigrants revived an old grocery store and some who aren’t allowed to work for wages volunteered at a senior center.

Keine Probleme in Bus/Zug.

After 25+ years away from the UK, I asked my oldest friend in 2016 if it was time to go back. “No. Not for at least another 10 years,” he replied. There are 190+ other countries to choose from. I’ve worked in 40+ of them. Always options, if one keeps one’s mind open.

Excellent article. 1988, ditto! This sentence is a classic: "Britain feels like a calmer place, if only because when you wake up in the morning there are still four or five hours to go before Trump starts tweeting."

Tell us, what's the probative value of such "news articles" purportedly highlighting what "a British immigrant thinks" or how "Trump voters [allegedly] feel" when it is not only one, subjective opinion, but it feels eerily planted by an invisible hand?
