Who knew that Saudi Arabia had such terribly thin skin that they are wildly apoplectic about constructive, if not measured and justified, criticism of their record on human rights. You’d think that they were governed by a bunch of luxuriant princelings. Oh...

Canada is merely the hapless convenient vehicle to bear the burden of carrrying the new Saudi message - we will not tolerate criticism anymore. They have taken a hammer to an ant in this scenario. To them, making an example of Canada should keep others at bay. Left to be seen.

Not sure what the Prince is trying to achieve. Canada isn't going to apologize and can easily live without any diplomatic or economic ties to Saudi Arabia. If anything he's doing us a favour by making it so we don't have to deal with a repressive state.

He is immature, rash and self-destructive. He is the beginning of the end of Saudi dynasty. His country has exported the most backward form of Islam: Wahhabism; Osma bin Laden was closely associated with the Saud rulers etc. We should unite to bring down the Saudi despotism.

Canada having not received US backing it is clear that the US supports Saudi. Trump hates Trudeau and is using the Saudis to undermine him. #regimechangeinCanada
