Boys are just as intimidated when they play, but they can't blame it on their gender. It's time to stop hiding the girls away in their own tournaments and to bring them into the mainstream. It's an objective game, skill is what counts. Segregation diminishes the chess community.

There's too much of a "sport" to the game of chess, and it isn't fun anymore. More girls to the game? Yeah, the girls «j'adube» the pieces on the pieces on the chessboard with long painted fingernails, and fool with the clock. The good old boys have their own tricks to counter.

The great thing about chess is it doesn't care what your gender or race or ethnicity or nationality or background are. It's still chess.
