In Sweden, every Saturday is effectively a national holiday, called lördagsgodis, which means “Saturday candy.”http://nyer.cm/hAQk80Z

I'm not Swedish, but I've always done this on Saturday's. It's like a ritual: choosing the candy, sharing it. It's the only time I eat it.

The Texas Georgssons have tried to do lördagsgodis (candy *only on Saturdays*) since the boys were little. My husband grew up with that in Sweden. But it’s hard here because kids are offered sweets everywhere, even at the pediatrician’s after checkups! @jgeorgsson @scoop881

We have the same in Norway. Saturday’s, after dinner, there is «lørdagsgodt»! What varies, but mixed candy in a little bag/bowl, chocolate, maybe some popcorn or chips, and a soda. Then we try not to eat anything the rest of the week, at least that’s what we teach our kids...😜😏

Haha. That’s legit. Candy and ice cream are big here. Grocery stores have big candy sections and many have the pick your own big bins. There are ice cream shops everywhere too!
