Even if it seems to have failed as a business model, L. L. Bean’s return policy was treasured because it reflected the values that Mainers like to celebrate in each other: honesty, good nature, and a mind-your-own-business ethos.http://nyer.cm/xvWnglU

It is not the business model that has failed; it is we who failed to live up to the business model.

Agree-it was a remnant from a better time. Then people abused it shamelessly and relentlessly. That didn’t happen years ago.

Being an LL Bean customer for decades never failed me... I've returned 2 items within 1 month due to a child literally growing in his sleep! Some people don't abuse a good thing :-)

Sooo you let your kid wear them for a month then sent them back? That doesn't seem ok...

L.L. Bean ends return policy and The New Yorker declares L.L. Bean 100-year-old return policy a failed business model. Hmmm.

It’s Trump’s fault! His amoral actions and serial lying have lowered the once moral decency of America to the point that a no questions asked return policy is no longer possible.

L.L.Bean is a Trump supporting, garbage company. Their clothes are absurdly waspy-anti-fashion outdoor nerdware that no one should ever wear. They suck, absolutely and completely.
