Hannah Gadsby, like many women, is done hiding her anger, and in “Nanette” she bends the bounds of stand-up to accommodate it. http://nyer.cm/oK1QZXX

This is a great performance. She spoke truth. She made me laugh, she made me cry & she made me want to be a better being.

OK, she’s angry, but does she have to dress like a man!? The fact that she clearly hates men is kind of strange because she dresses like one?! She needs to continue therapy! Or start it! #Netflix Is clearly trying to dictate the market! wow, this is heinous!

It’s a chore to watch, I tried. She’s boring and doesn’t have anything interesting to say. Stop trying to praise mediocrity because “it has a message 🙃”

Hannah Gadsby is brave and brilliant! To tell her horrible story and not be a victim is incredible. My hope for her is to find joy and happiness as she continues to live her life. And may we hear from her again.

Her performance, her dialog in Nanette is the most powerful dissertation on victimization and rising from the ashes of hurt and pain, so articulately expressed, that I have ever heard. I dare you not to weep at one point...

So raw, powerful and oh so brave. The review doesn’t mention the internalised homophobia and shame. That rings so true for me
