Much of Robin DiAngelo's book “White Fragility” is dedicated to pulling back the veil on so-called pillars of whiteness: assumptions that prop up racist beliefs without our realizing it. http://nyer.cm/LdXzrLQ

The problem with DiAngelo's approach is that she doesn't stop at saying the US race system makes American whites inclined to racism - the story she tells about bullying the German woman makes clear DiAngelo thinks whiteness itself an indicator of moral failure.

In DiAngelo's view, Heather Heyer & David Duke are equally racist even though Heyer died protesting racism and Duke makes a living from it. DiAngelo is the anti-MLK - she believes in judging everybody by the color of their skin.

Without changing the content, these articles need to lure fragile whites with better titles that entice them to click and read. Something like.. _Best recipe for Potato Salad with Raisins and Walnuts_ ..would hook them.

Would titling it Preserving the Racialist's Dream of Permanent Victimhood be too accurate or just bad marketing?

To pejoratively utter the word “whiteness”, as if it doesn’t immediately reveal one’s own willingness to leverage weaponized prejudice for political purposes, is to further—intentionally or otherwise—the precise dynamic that gave rise to Trump. When will you realize this?

and there is a gendered component. white women do "fragility" very differently from white men. white women withdraw, sulk, cry, self-victimize, what have you. white men get angry and aggressive.

and lo and behold, a live demonstration of white fragility. no where did i mention anything about white women being "scheming manipulative monsters". but let's mischaracterize what i said so we don't have to talk about white female fragility.

If I have White Privilege & it gives me an advantage I'll keep it. White Privilege lives in the heads of some minorities. Asians R a minority & they don't need excuses. They have 20% of the seats in Ivy League Schools. Why can't the other minorities duplicate it?

i don't know it's almost as if Asians immigrated to this country under completely different circumstances and have faced a completely different set of challenges and restrictive laws than other particular minority groups.

Breakthrough technology is America's ace in the hole. Computers, MRI, Men on the Moon, Cell phones, Atomic Power, flight etc. in the past 150 yrs every breakthrough advance was made by Americans & Europeans. S. America, Africa & Asia have contributed nothing. Why?

Because you are ignoring the contributions of non Western nations to fit a racist narrative for one thing. Also though, Western industrialization was fueled and funded through the subjugstion of other nations and the extraction of wealth and labor.

You sound like a Russian Marxist. I am only referring to BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGY. Subjugation has nothing to do with creativity & brains. As I said EVERY SHRED OF BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGY WAS MADE BY WHITE AMERICANS & WHITE WESTERN EUROPEANS. NO ONE ELSE WHY? You know the answer.

If you're asking why the breakthroughs of the industrial age happened in a specific place, you have to understand how and why industrialization was achieved in those places. Also most of those breakthroughs you're touting were actually from Jews so tone down the white pride.

I do not consider a skinhead type living in the woods on top of a mountain, White. I consider them a genetic mistake. I am not Jewish but my wife is a German Jew. German Jews like Einstein function an entire level above the other races.

Pity that this will probably never be read by the audience who truly need to read it. It will be preaching to a half-deaf choir.
